What this policy covers

This policy explains how product reviews and shop ratings work on handymade.sk — how we ensure they come from real customers, when and how reviews are rewarded, and when a review may be hidden (Section 8(6) of Slovak Act No. 108/2024 Coll., consumer-review transparency under the EU Omnibus Directive 2019/2161). The shop is operated by Handymade s.r.o..

Verified purchase — how we guarantee it

All reviews presented as consumer reviews come exclusively from customers who actually bought the goods from us. This is enforced technically:

• review invitations are e-mailed only to customers with a delivered order,
• the invitation carries a unique link (token) tied to the specific order — a review cannot be submitted without it,
• we neither publish nor buy reviews from other sources,
• every review submitted this way carries a “verified purchase” label — and that label is always true.

Review reward

For writing a review we provide a single-use discount coupon for the next purchase. The coupon goes to every reviewer regardless of whether the review is positive or negative — the reward is for the review, not its tone, and we never condition its content. Rewarded reviews are clearly labelled when displayed.

Publication and moderation

We publish positive and negative reviews alike and do not edit their text; before display the text is only automatically stripped of HTML code. Reviews containing links to third-party websites are rejected automatically (spam protection). Beyond that, a review may be hidden only for serious reasons — vulgarity, spam, unlawful content, or content unrelated to the product. Every hidden review is recorded together with the reason (internal log) so the process can be audited.

The average star rating is calculated from published reviews. A hidden review (always only for a serious reason recorded in the internal log) is not counted towards the average; we never hide reviews selectively to improve the score.

Review translations

Reviews are shown to visitors in several languages. Foreign-language display is a machine translation of the original — a translated review is labelled (with the original language indicated) and the original wording is always available.

Seller replies and your rights

We may reply to a review publicly (the reply is labelled as the seller’s reply). Reviews are published with the name you choose when submitting (pre-filled with the first name from your order); you can request deletion of your review at any time at [email protected].
